House rules

At ARJ Gym, we see our gym as more than just a place to work out. It is an extension of our home: a place where we respect each other, empower each other and where everyone should feel safe and welcome. That is why we have clear house rules that ensure structure, safety and a pleasant atmosphere for everyone - from recreational people to top athletes.

Is a towel mandatory?

Yes, always. From a hygienic point of view, it is mandatory to bring a towel and use it during training. This is how we keep the gym clean and pleasant for everyone together.

Do I have to take personal hygiene into account?

Yes, we ask everyone to come to the training refreshed and well-groomed — so good for yourself and your training partners.

What kind of sportswear should I wear?

Wear a sports shirt and shorts that allow you to move freely. We train barefoot, so no shoes or socks. Make sure your clothes ventilate properly — kickboxing is intensive!

Is kickboxing safe?

Yes, safety comes first for us. Our trainers pay close attention and we always train in a controlled manner, with respect for each other.

Do I have to wear a mouthguard and shin guards?

They are not mandatory for technical training courses. At contact moments such as sparring, yes — safety first!

Is the contact in women's lessons hard or light?

The contact is light and controlled. The focus is on technique, fitness and fun, not hard sparring.

Do only women train in women's classes?

Yes, women's classes are exclusively for women. So you always train in a familiar group with only other women.

What's the difference between boxing and kickboxing?

In boxing, you only use your hands, while in kickboxing, you also use your legs for kicking. It makes the training extra dynamic and complete.

Do I have to be fit to start kickboxing?

No, you know. You just came to get fit. The lessons are easy to structure and you always train at your own level.

Can I also take private lessons?

Yes, we also offer private training. Ideal if you want to grow faster or would like personal guidance. Just send us a message for the options.

Is kickboxing suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! Many of our members started out with no experience. Our trainers explain everything step by step, so you can enter at your own pace.
